Save the hassle--don't purchase from Buy.com

So I was in the market for an MP3 player last month for gift giving. I found a great deal on a refurbished Sansa e260 for only $69.99 with free shipping. The deal was at Buy.com. I ordered it and a week later Buy.com was selling the same item for $10 less. So I asked Buy.com if they price match it and refund me the $10. They said their price match policy was only good for 3 days and...

"Our Low Price Guarantee does not apply when you use coupons, rebates, promotional offers, free shipping, or product-bundle pricing on the order."

So I tried to cancel the order but it couldn't be canceled. Waited another week and the item finally arrives. Opened it up and it was the wrong item!!! They sent me the Sansa e250 instead of the e260--a very big difference since the e260 has twice as much memory (4GB).

During the two weeks of waiting for Buy.com to ship the item, I saw that Costco had a coupon for a brand new Sansa e280 (8GB) for only $20 more than I paid for a refurbished e260!

So after I received the wrong item, I got an RMA from Buy.com and sent it back for a refund with the intent of picking up the e280 at Costco. I tracked the return package via USPS. I contacted Buy.com the day after the USPS confirmed that the package was delivered to find out when I would get my refund. Buy.com told me they hadn't received the package yet. WTF?!?

So I sent them the confirmation info I got from the USPS. The next day I got an e-mail from Buy.com saying they received the return and that it would take 5-7 business days process the return and another 1-3 business days for the refund to appear on my credit card. Well, they must be hand-sorting the returns if it takes them an entire business day to figure out that they even received a returned package.

Well, now it's been 11 business days since the USPS delivered the returned item to Buy.com's warehouse--and over a month since I originally placed the order. No refund and no communication from Buy.com. Right now I'm out $70 and have no idea if I'm ever getting my money back from Buy.com.

DON'T PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM BUY.COM!!!
